Thai tom yum fried rice |
You can used any choice of meat and vegetables you like for this dish.
Remember most of the herbs and spices are optional if you cannot find it at the grocery store.
The most important ingredients are the rice, the tom yum paste and all the sauces. Everything else is up to you.
Ingredients:
Tom yum ingredients |
1-2 eggs
10-15 peeled prawns
3-5 pieces of lime leaves
1 lemongrass chopped (optional)
2-3 pieces of galangal (optional)
2-3 tbsp of cooking oil
3-4 cloves of chopped garlic
3-5 Thai chili chopped (optional)
1-2 tbsp tom yum paste
2 tbsp fish sauce
1-2 tbsp of oyster sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tbsp sugar (optional)
1 cilantro (optional)
Cooking Instructions:
Step 1: Add cooking oil to a wok at medium-high heat, followed by garlic, stirred till the garlic is golden.
Step 2: Cracked the eggs into a wok, scrambled until cooked then add the prawns.
Step 3: Add the herbs and spices (lemongrass, lime leaves, etc) and vegetables.
Step 4: Once the vegetable is almost cooked, add the rice and then all the sauces, stirred and mixed with the rest of the ingredients in the wok until well blended together for about 3-5 minutes.
Step 5: Taste the meal and garnished with cilantro and cucumber.
